FYH Preformed Armor Rod

These pre-formed armor rods are used to protect conductors from damage caused by vibration, clamping stress, friction, and other external influences. On the one hand, it can be used to repair rods and damaged conductors, and restore inherent mechanical strength and electrical conductivity; on the other hand, it can protect branch rods and prevent branch conductors from being damaged by arcs and friction.

The structure of the pre-formed armor rods is simple, and each group of pre-formed wires is shaped like a hollow tube, which protects the wrapped conductor by forming a clamping force.

Pre-formed armor rod is divided into FYB type and FYH type. (F—protection; Y—pre-twisted wire/pre-formed armor rod; H—guard line; B—repair strip; number—applicable wire cross-section; molecular representation)

Pre-formed armor rod is a connecting fitting for overhead power conductors and power overhead optical cable terminals, suspensions, joints, etc. It is widely used in power transmission and distribution, optical fiber communication, electrified railway, cable television, construction, agriculture and other fields.  Armour rods are useful in protecting the cable against bending, compression, abrasion, and flash-over. These rods are used to repair damaged aluminum-based conductors and restore the conductors’ mechanical strength and conductivity.
